Why build features over and over again when you can build them once and pattern them where they need to go? There are many pattern features available to you and even more options within them. We'll take some time to take a closer look at all the feature patterns available in Parts. In this hands-on workshop we'll go through examples of each feature pattern. Attendees will learn the applications for each feature pattern and when to apply the options available in each.Session Type: Product Training - Hands-On Workshop - Masterclass - Customer StoriesAerospace & DefenseDesigners & EngineersEngineering & CAD ManagersSimulation SpecialistsSOLIDWORKSSOLIDWORKS SimulationIntermediateSimulationSimulation ReviewUser8:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 04Wednesday, Feb 04

This session will present a comparison between thermal simulation results and real measurements from the DropCoal experiment installed on the International Space Station (ISS). DropCoal is a device that performs multiple liquids coalescence in microgravity. Being a controlled environment, a stringent requirement is that the housing maintains a touch temperature under a given maximum. This was the starting point for the thermal analyses run using the SOLIDWORKS Thermal Simulation tools. The device model was designed so that the analysis would generate not only important information about the exterior enclosure but also relevant results for the subsystems within it. With the experiment later successfully operating in the microgravity of the Space Station, we were able to analyze the resulting thermal parameters from the thermal sensors inside and compare them with those extracted from the thermal analyses.Session Type: Masterclass - Customer Stories - Collaborative Learning - MeetUp SessionsConsumer Packaged Goods - RetailIndustrial Equipment (inc. 3D printing offers incredible possibilities, but knowing when and how to use it effectively is critical for successful product development. In some cases, 3D printing is not the solution, even though it is tempting to use it for everything. This session guides participants through the decision-making process for additive manufacturing, exploring which parts are best suited for 3D printing, which technologies to choose, and how material selection impacts performance and cost. Using real-world examples, attendees will learn how to evaluate functional requirements, production volume, tolerances, and post-processing needs to determine the most effective approach. The session also highlights strategies for integrating 3D printing into existing workflows and design processes, helping participants make informed choices that balance innovation, efficiency, and practicality. Manufacturing Leaders today expect the same intuitive, self-serve, Gen-AI-powered reporting experience they get from consumer-grade tools. Static formats (Crystal Reports) fall short of the demand for flexible, real-time insights. With rising data complexity, compliance pressures, and multiple systems (Salesforce, CRM, other ERPs & external databases), users need a unified view. DELMIAWorks users often struggle with limited BI flexibility, especially when sensitive data must remain on-premises. SMART BI from Arisoft is purpose-built to maximize DELMIAWorks' data insights, while integrating smoothly with other enterprise systems. • Dynamic, drill-down dashboards replace Crystal Reports • Natural language search-non-technical users can ‘talk to BI’ • 100% on-premise-secure, comes with NLP/ predictive analytics • Unified view - connect Salesforce, PLM, external ERPs • Purpose-built for DELMIAWorks, not a generic BI tool, but a native enhancement • Trend & variance analysis - all within a DELMIAWorks native experienceSession Type: Masterclass - Best Practices & Workflows - Masterclass - Best Practices & WorkflowsHigh TechLife Science & HealthcareDesigners & EngineersEngineering & CAD ManagersSimulation SpecialistsSOLIDWORKSSOLIDWORKS Flow SimulationIntermediateAdvancedDesignMechanical DesignUser9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 04Wednesday, Feb 04

This session explores how structured design methodologies developed for artificial hearts can accelerate innovation in any complex product. Drawing from years of experience in class III medical device and surgical robotics development, Ian Coll McEachern demonstrates how to integrate CAD, simulation, and additive manufacturing to reduce technical risk, validate faster, and manage interdependent subsystems in parallel. Attendees will learn frameworks for prioritizing unknowns, structuring experiments, and using automated test benches for empirical validation. Ian will walk through real examples from artificial heart development—where precision, reliability, and innovation intersect—and show how those same principles can be applied to mechanical systems, fluid-handling devices, and other high-performance designs. Ideal for engineers, designers, and technical leads looking to elevate their systems thinking, speed up iteration cycles, and enhance product development workflows.Session Type: Masterclass - Best Practices & Workflows - Masterclass - Best Practices & WorkflowsAerospace & DefenseArchitecture, Engineering & ConstructionDesigners & EngineersMakersStudents3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKSBeginnerDesignMechanical DesignUser9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 04Wednesday, Feb 04

My design journey began in my early engineering studies with courses like Engineering Graphics and CAD. What started as simple drawings soon grew into a final-year project: a robotic arm for cleaning solar panels. These projects sparked my passion for product design and set me on a path of growth. After graduation, I worked with international clients on design, 3D printing, and prototyping. Using SOLIDWORKS as my primary tool, I translated concepts into manufacturable designs while strengthening problem-solving and teamwork skills. Now, as an MSc student in Advanced Design and Manufacturing and leader of the Northamptonshire SOLIDWORKS User Group, I share how SOLIDWORKS shaped my academic work, professional projects, and career ambitions. My current research explores how machine learning can train algorithms to predict design iterations, material properties, and mechanical behavior, and enable advanced product lifecycle management in SOLIDWORKS.Session Type: Masterclass - Customer Stories - Masterclass - Customer StoriesAerospace & DefenseHigh TechDesigners & EngineersEngineering & CAD ManagersEntrepreneurs3DEXPERIENCE Platform3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKSBeginnerIntermediateDesignMechanical DesignUser9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 04Wednesday, Feb 04

The Jazzy Trio brings together more than 100 years of professional experience to share insights on career development. Having worked across industries and collaborated with others over the decades, the trio has gained a wealth of perspectives. Skill and experience go hand in hand, but how did they get here? Not alone, but by drawing on the learning paths that surrounded them. In today’s interconnected world, the most valuable learning does not come from a single source. It emerges from weaving together the wisdom of experience, the foundation of formal education, and the agility of continuous adaptation. Their story is ultimately about recognizing that we rise by lifting others, and that knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. Come and be a part of the story with three users who pursued the path to knowledge and see which aspects of their journey resonates most with your own professional development.Session Type: Collaborative Learning - MeetUp Sessions - Masterclass - Product BriefingsConsumer Packaged Goods - RetailIndustrial Equipment (inc.
